Kenosha Delegate Takes Harley To DNC

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — A Democratic National Convention delegate from Kenosha is taking the scenic route to Denver.

Instead of flying to Denver for next week’s convention, Mike Underhill is riding his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide. He started his ride in Kenosha Thursday, with the convention scheduled to begin on Monday.

Entrepreneur Says Invention Cuts Cycle Emissions

BRIGHTON, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan entrepreneur says moves by China and India to toughen motorcycle emission standards give him a chance at making it big with a fuel injection system that helps meet those stricter pollution rules.

China builds 24 million motorcycles a year, while India makes 10 million. New clean air standards that apply to small-engine motorcycles sold after 2009 in those countries give him hope for a huge market for his product.

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) _ A 40-year-old man has been indicted on fraud charges for allegedly swindling customers at his motorcycle shop out of nearly $1 million.

Gigi Beaird doesn’t look like the leader of a women’s motorcycle group.
Sitting in her office at Northern Illinois University, she looks like the 45-year-old grants and contracts administrator she is. She’s wearing a bubble gum pink suit that completely covers her tattoo and photos of her two children adorn a filing cabinet in the corner.
But directly behind her, a red motorcycle helmet stands ready for her commute home.

STURGIS, S.D. (AP) _ The man who was shot in a crowded Sturgis bar on Saturday has been identified as 33-year-old Joseph Patrick McGuire of Imperial Beach, Calif. Authorities say the wounded McGuire is a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang.
